I have around 20 pages of posts with 10 on each page. So that is around 200 sets of notes. I have finished auditing them, partly processing them for now. This may be the second time I am attempted a complete total reflection of posts on Svbtle. I did it last when I crossed 100 posts. So this is the second for now brief survey. For what it is worth it seems funny recollecting that I was taking notes as part of a public thinking process from 2013 onwards. Traditional blogging I don't think I have ever done. Now I am not sure what blogging is because of this momentary, existential state. Instead of archiving on Evernote, ideas I found interesting I processed them into Tumblr blog posts in 2012. mumbaiopendata posts as notes are what remains for now. Other than a list from there for most of those, I still have to find a future. This kindle annual conversation will leave out Tumblr and google sites and focus on Medium, Svbtle, OneNote, Evernote, and Roam Research. One set of posts from Tumblr will make it in. Rest I have to figure after the kindle problem is solved. Daily notes on Evernote/ Visual Studio Code lead to daily sentences published on substack. Writings go on Medium. Monthly reports are done on Evernote and Substack, in part also on OneNote, but I have to get that process sorted. Annual conversations will distill from Medium in the future. Sentences on Svbtle will move into writings on Medium which then is processed into conversations (annual report). Posted on February 28th, 2014, this post is the first reference to my formal use of 'note' as a word that I thought was interesting. Notes have taken a different meaning now especially with the regimes imposed by the tools for thought, roam research, and obsidian communities. I locate it here, to reflect on what I considered as notes during a time. It is necessary to understand there was no knowledge base to think out then how to process them. Bullets I have added, which again was something not clearly understood at that time.

The text doesn’t have a structure not particularly how it’s supposed to function but is a composition of a nonlinear partially interconnected idea on what it means to assemble an archive that is a city-based activity. This is a draft. Maybe.
The archive is a record room. It stores collections of records in forms submitted to it for storage. They come in various types and are of significance with respect to the agency whose records are stored and in regards to the collections, it is meant to house. Archives are references for historiographers who with the material accessed within these spaces are facilitated in constructing narratives of significance. As building or spatial typologies, they are required to facilitate storage, preservation, and retrieval of records under its care. There are also possible conditions that can serve the creation of a project or the possession of any individual. A spontaneous group of objects that can inform a particular entity by nature of its association. Personal record staged not particularly in a physical space but more of a location of choice. Either a formal institution or a private investigation the position of an archive remains that of a repository. For the record, to assemble it is on a premise to activate it at a given point in time by either an individual or provide access for a group to engage with it. It can be argued towards a closed or open archive at times it is for policy to base itself on this position. Thus in this group of ideas, one could say an archive is made available. To this argument of the archive, one now can direct energies towards how to establish an archive for the city? or when does contents of a collection can claim association with of being of the city.
What is an archive? _ the archive is confined to or defined by its definitions, definitions are controlled by the author. How is it organized? _ its organization is regulated by the author and the format/ medium which a said archive is assembled or selected. How does one retrieve within an organization? _ to retrieve or to construct knowledge if one might rephrase, it is again dissertated to the medium and individual consulting the archive
An engagement with the archive is a bit different than an archive itself. An archive can contain or stage documents that speak about the being of the archive but ideally not the other way around.
The forward to research on archives, formation of a project, this a curated conditioned archive. Instead of processing a narrative on the city, the assumption here is towards a set of objects or information strands and when in the collection can/ should be the city. The study is the possibility of the city that arises when a group of ideas is structured together. A collection of information sets that encourages the imagination of the city. The strands of knowledge that piece together the definition of the form that is Mumbai.
Archive of a project that was never was, that in itself then becomes the project. The action of not doing work in the case of not being able to note have done that is thus in an essence of the archive. The archive could be considered as a collection of references and ideas of a project that in reality existed only in or as an idea and is made available by this archive. The goal of the project and the archive is hence to perform the project at an instance whenever possible.
The preface provides a context to the record room with definitions, projects, concept references, and readings.
Four collections ignore the format of a document but model a version of a possible virtual archive. It groups information sets based on ideas of what that collection or set of information is supposed to convey. This is a theoretical model. Staged to collect the idea to some key concepts of investigation. This isn’t meant to be structure to an idea but content that could be indicative of one. Five collection groups, though inspired by the format of document-making to be noted are that.

3.0 _ Conclusions [processes and two collections on information and the city]
The archive is an agenda. Every archive is based on the purpose of its collection. An organization or agency places one in place. it has an objective based on which collections are acquired and positioned. Underlying why an archive is built and when an archive becomes a city-based endeavor. The city is an agenda. The agenda is framed by or as resulted how an agenda moves over time. Objects are sorted or brought in based on either principle ideas or how policies transform over the period of the duration of the archive.
Two objects in the exercise are a collection or an archive and the description of the collection. The text acts as the description of the object that is the archive. The archive is a model that contains a set of information groups based off from ascribed concepts of investigation in data, knowledge, and the city.
What happens when information gets structured?
What is a collection? How does content gets brought into place or formulate into type? When does a collection become one?
City as being continuously being built over time with varying factors. How does this spatial arrangement work in its favor or against it? To establish the spatial city the archive is assembled. Bits are brought together to form a whole. The city is assembled so also the archive. To form an archive of the city where are records of the parts of it coming from and what form does it take. Modeling and archive for the city are thus is the presentation and the investigation of the becoming, in relation, of the city.
Form of the archive when it transforms from medium to medium. Virtual to print. Data as a model in the city. Model of a set of records on information first - When does information construct knowledge?
Access to the archive is similar to the access to the city. and what are the various city records - how does it construct knowledge? If there are objectives to collections, how are they to be framed?
GOAL OF THE PROJECT _ To model a data/ information archive for the city on an identified platform and test its laid-out parameters towards city knowledge construction.
FORMAT OF THE PROJECT _ Work for the fellowship has been compiled and hosted at a modeled virtual archive. The document towards completion of the fellowship is an edited and document appropriated version of the site contents.
IMPLICATIONS OF THE PROJECT _ A grammar of urban knowledge is a derivative of the content collected, compiled, and structured as per the investigatory framework applied. This set of postulates is suggested to be tested empirically.
USE OF THE PROJECT _ Summarizing, consolidating, and presenting concepts to develop ideas towards a virtual collaborative urban resource location.
Conversations, narratives of and in the city. The links or the structure take form when a city imagination is presented. The commonalities are staged. Images that are invoked. Objects and places that come into sound bites and stories when it becomes the city.
Data/ Geography/ Instructions/ Landmarks/ Layers/ Regulations/ Representation + Stochastic _ Items and methods to navigate these.
A city is composed of its parts, if pieced together will look like its geography? Should/ can the piece takes any other possible form if it does then will it be associated with the city? What makes bits city bits?
Knowledge is based on ratified definitions. In the case of the city, one could start its knowledge premise with respect to its location and hence add other parameters of the investigation. Elaboration of a primordial understanding such as place, defined by city limits/ delineation establishes foundations of a larger knowledge system. This city definition lays out a stage for processes of archaeological investigation within the defined state. Here found city ‘objects’ initiate its task of assembling an imagination that is based on the status of that which is made available within the site. A physical resource center, such as a library in the city could be used as an analogy to the probable contents of that possible urban knowledge base. When a structure is applied to the material with appropriate stages, categories of content retrieval and individual consulting the repository presented builds on the personal criteria of inquiry. Datum, in plural data, when collected together creates information. Therefore information presents itself at the first stage as a collection. A set of collections takes the form of an archive and within archives, related information is regrouped on the basis of identified narratives when compiled datasets are assembled. This has been the structure of sub-question 02 [how do databases construct knowledge about the city] presented. An urban knowledge system is hence a resultant analyzed as an outcome of collections, archives, and narratives as made available by aligning the material to a definition [of place] which names or identifies the urban condition. The grammar or the rules of content composition is then established within identified frameworks, which is available for interpretation by the author consulting either one or more of mentioned framework types. Collection, archive, and narratives are further elaborated on the basis of selected case-study subjects for their possible types to list out the tentative postulates of urban grammar.
The study has evolved and presented as an ongoing investigatory framework to assemble a list of components that make up the quintessential city inquiry. The list is derived out of principles in information order. These overarching heads listed assemble a template that measures an urban exercise. Hence the grammar of a city study is a result of measurement derived. Syntax - a derivative of measurements then assembles databases into urban knowledge systems. Application of these should enable a viable city construction.
Landmarks/ Geography/ Layers/ Development Regulations/ Instruction/ Statistics/ Narratives/ Representation – are, within a cognitive derivative assumption, the components of an urban knowledge grammar. These postulates would ideally be categories within an assembled urban repository or archive. What makes a placed object [an exercise in collecting material pertaining to Mumbai] in the archive under the listed categories needs to be better established and is the preview of subsequent iterations of the project.
This identified set of postulates positions the urban study as a consolidated entity of being composed of stated components. The list doesn’t try to be a matrix but aligns more towards a pursuit in finding syntax. Variations in syntax would then result in presenting types of a product which is an urban study. This thus presents a more pragmatic attempt in displaying what an urban area is. The assumptions here are largely being in the age of satellite imagery or an available data opulence era wherein one does no longer have to deal with constrained trust upon the view of the city but avails a more overriding perspective of the space which we call Mumbai.
Two forms of content spills which associate themselves with the idea of the place under investigation but not directly a part of the place but tend to associate because of identified circumstances of a) places which come in the periphery of the place, tends to display or claims similarity due to shared stakes or dependences. Dependencies could range from shared networks to climatic and geographic features. These stakes are built over time thus mutate with each generation. b) objects or abnormalities [music albums, people (significant personalities who have their roots in some form within the city), furniture stores, clubs, color or cat species] which only identify itself to the place because it’s labeled or recognized with the name of a place thus a shared identity.

This text was written sometime during the KRVIA fellowship therefore probably in 2011/ ‘12. The project is planned for recompilation as [[book09]]. Time as a system to contain ideas is a tactic first tested on the #ideascatalog. Under zettelkasten3 all of these are reworked, updated to address the mandates of the marketplaces.
