Solar system. Earth. and Metaverse. In this year architectural imagination has broadened itself into these three planes of exploration. Traditionally Architecture has limited its discussions and theory-making as an extension of philosophy and politics. Science and tech have operated at the conceptual fringes of design. It is obvious that would be the case since architecture as art has had a lineage of discourse in art history. It has never made much sense when architecture has moved beyond the art discourse. There are some attempts after deconstruction that got into chaos theory to generate architectural form. Not many are happy with the results and the cult following there with parametric architecture is despised. So it is in that context or history we have nfts and metaverse and then everything trans-planetary. Getting verified at Rarible was therefore interesting. The basics, web 1.0 to 3.0 I have brought it. Blockchain discourses kinda skimmed through that as well. The question is how to progress and build on the knowledge base. Smart contracts are the first major technology benchmark to look into. Free minting, a result of lazy minting sorting out the threshold access. Architecture practices operate within communities of practice. Either it is in academia, construction, conservation, low-cost construction, or real estate every sector has specific codes of architectural imagination. How does an architectural practice manifest in the Web3 space is a design research problem to address. Architecture practice within the note-taking community doesn't have much future than reading books or extended discussions on texts on spatial practices. The other virtual architectural communities are saturated. What has a possibility of building a discourse only seems viable on the Web3 and blockchain community. Mapping out the various outposts and networks within the developing community is a parallel problem to address while trying to locate which technology requirements architectural practices have to upgrade to be part of the network.
