I have never clearly understood where Mike is getting at with terms, propositions, and questions. Rather than invest time in figuring that out I am going with the tried and tested glossary. Terms right now is a second attempt in assembling the glossary together. The need for a glossary especially within virtual communities is to stage a common ground of operations. In architecture, as a strategy, Koolhaas used it first to think out that New York retroactive manifesto. It is not a commonly applied frame of thinking but an assembly of terms helps define knowledge, even if it is incremental, on how different terms are used and therefore how that community creates knowledge. An evolving glossary could indicate over time how the community has grown or evolved. I still have to sort out early Evernote notes but the idea of the glossary was first introduced to discuss three terms that were causing discrepancies in discord conversations. Synthesis, note, and zettelkasten. For now, I have, architectural book, book club, social intelligence, visual zettelkasten, tools for thought, and roam research. Terms go well with questions. For the six questions, there are these six terms now. Rather than answer the questions directly thinking first as a set of terms can result in a better perspective of finding answers. Terms are classifiable as literature notes. The argument is still in the works on what are my takeaways for a year of thinking in roam and #roamcult. A position the community developed as an idea presents is a collective development of systems that organize markdown files. Write, connect/ link, and then search. Query if you have a ton. That seems all to the conversation. In total, I have 11 terms and 6 questions to address how my year with roam has been. To skim through all the book club notes would tidy both the list and limit what is possible with the form of the project as a deliverable.
